Maine Coons are a very special kind of cat, they can go for walks (on a harness and leash), they can be taught tricks and play fetch, they will greet you at the door after a long day at work, they love to follow you around the house and will sit near or on your lap in the evenings. Every Maine Coon has their own personality and part of the enjoyment of having one is learning what his or her personality is.
The Maine Coons calm gentle demeanour means they do well with kids of all ages and dogs of all sizes, both of these qualities mean that for our family it is a match made in heaven. We have fallen in love with the Maine Coon from their chirps and trilling to their gentle and majestic bearing.
WHY DO MAINE COONS MAKE GREAT PETS?
Maine Coons are smart, adaptable, can be trained to do tricks and love attention but do not demand it. They do great with other animals including dogs and cats, they are great for families with or without kids, and in general are very easy going. They do not meow but chirp and trill, a delightful sound, some will even bark which is a funny thing to witness. They are considered the dog of the cat world and are one of the largest breeds of cat.
