There are many things we look at before deciding to pair our Queens with one of our Kings, first and foremost is their state of health. Has my Queen recovered from her previous litter, how often is she cycling, how strong are those cycles, how well did she do with their last litter of kittens, is she ready to have another litter or would it be better for her to wait? Once we have answered these questions then we will start making plans to have her bred to one of our Kings.
When pairing our Queens with certain males we look at breed compatibility, if one of our Queens does not have the perfect profile we will pair her with our male that does, if one of our Queens is slightly smaller then we will pair her with our male that is bigger etc. Our goal is to always breed for health then temperament and then breed standard and so we will make our plans based off of these three things.
Plan as we may sometimes our cats have other ideas and so no planned litter is ever guaranteed.
